Italian Citizenship Assistance
With years of experience, we assist eligible foreigners in obtaining Italian citizenship.
On March 28, 2025, the Italian Government approved a new law (Decreto Legge n. 36/2025) which modifies the Italian citizenship law.
The Italian State will no longer consider individuals of Italian descent born outside of Italy as Italian citizens if they:
c) Do not have a parent who was born in Italy.
d) Do not have a parent who lived in Italy for two years prior to their birth
e) Do not have a grandparent who was born in Italy.
Applications for recognition of citizenship that are documented and submitted by 11:59 PM (Rome time) on March 27, 2025, will still be processed under the previous rules.
Furthermore, the law intervenes in matters related to disputes regarding the determination of statelessness and Italian citizenship, establishing that:
- Oaths and testimony are not admissible as evidence;
- The applicant for Italian citizenship must provide proof of the absence of grounds for non-acquisition or loss of citizenship as specified by law.
We are closely monitoring the developments and we are here to provide accurate legal counsel and guide you through your options.
